Amsterdam: Day Two

Saturday, March 12, we woke up in Amsterdam and set off to explore. Jon and I headed off in the direction of the Anne Frank House, which was really cool. It was kind of amazing to be standing there in the middle of something that is so perfectly preserved, such a powerful piece of very recent history that is still almost entirely forgotten. Of course at the Anne Frank house there are pictures allowed... and I accidently left my camera battery at the hostel. Doh.

For the afternoon we went to the Van Gogh museum. This time I remembered my battery, and got some interesting pictures of a typical street in Amsterdam and the typical weather...

It's not exactly Hawaii

Of course the Van Gogh musuem didn't allow pictues. Brilliant. So on the way back from the Van Gogh I took a few snapshots again just to give a general impression of what the town is like.

Dutch weather = very suck

The city was interesting, had lots of canals... not quite the same style as Venice though.

That night we went to the Holland Casino and played the "Lido Club" which is the cheap section in the basement of the Casino. We had a great time, stayed there about 4 hours and I came out 30 Euro ahead on the night. Wesley ended up +400 Euro. Lucky fool.

After the casino we came home and crashed, Sunday we would leave for Berlin.
