Venezia: Day Three

Tuesday, March 8 was our third day in Venice. We started the day by heading down to some shops and a museum/library that was designed by Carlos Scarpa. After this we went to the University of Venice to see a large gate that Scarpa designed, and then we split for lunch. I went to lunch with Brett, Jon, Jason, and Gilbert, we had Pizza near the University. After lunch we headed to meet Peter on the isle of Giudecca to see some more modern homes and stuff.

Old bridges like this were extremely common throughout the city

It was really pretty impressive to see the large expanse of new architecture in the residential area. We enjoyed our time there, which gave us a chance to see a whole bunch of new stuff.

New bridges like this marked the entrance to the more modern residential area

This was one of my favorite buildings in the residential area of Venezia

Heading out from the residential area we checked out a Palladian church and some boat docks.

It seems some people had more luck docking their boats than others

That evening we went back to the Lido and explored around, then Dave, Laura, Caitlyn, Stephanie and I went to explore the Lido a while and had dinner at a nice restaurant near our hotel.
